China: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Crouching Tiger: Even with China's one child policy Chinas population grew by 132.2 million between 1990 and 2000, an increase of 11.7%. It appears to be poised to grow even more.
Hidden Dragon: More than 10% of China's farm land is polluted, posing a "severe threat" to the nation's food production, state media reports. Excessive fertiliser use, polluted water, heavy metals and solid wastes are to blame, the reports said.
